WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla County Elections Office reports candidate filing for the 2023 primary election is now open until 4 p.m. this Friday.
Openings include a commissioner for the Port of Walla Walla; city council positions for the cities of College Place, Prescott, Waitsburg, and Walla Walla; several positions with local school districts, fire districts, parks and recreation districts, water districts, plus the Walla Walla Cemetery District No. 1, and Columbia County Public Hospital District No. 1.

Candidates may electronically submit their declaration of candidacy online at https://voter.votewa.gov/candidatefiling/candidatelogin.aspxs
In addition, candidates may file in-person at the Elections Office, 315 West Main Street, Room 203 or by mail: Walla Walla County Elections, PO Box 2176, Walla Walla, WA 99362. Walla Walla County Auditor Karen Martin said the 2023 primary election is Aug. 1 if there are more than two people filing for the same position. The general election is on Nov. 7.
