LA GRANDE – (Release from Eastern Oregon University) After going 3-1 at the National Tournament and making their first ever semifinal appearance, the Mountaineers had two players earn All-Tournament honors. Senior middle hitter Cambree Scott and junior middle hitter Kara Clayton each received the honor for their play. While the Mounties have had players make All-Tournament teams in the past, having multiple players earn the honor this year is yet another program first for Mountaineer Volleyball.

Scott adds on to her long list of accomplishments earning her first career NAIA All-Tournament Team honor. Scott did what she has done all year against the best teams in the country. Offensively Scott averaged seven kills per match during play in Sioux City hitting .187 at the tournament. Where she was most dominant was on the defensive side where she put up six or more blocks in each match of the NAIA Tournament highlighted by an eight-block performance to open pool play against St. Xavier. Scott averaged six and a half blocks per match and 1.86 per set at the Tyson Events Center.

Clayton, a newcomer who quickly made a name for herself this season, continued her stellar play at the tournament as well. The junior out of Nevada averaged 8.5 kills per match and 2.5 per set on .232 hitting. Defensively Clayton stood out at the net as well totaling 15 blocks at the tournament averaging 1.07 per set.

The last Mountaineer to earn All-Tournament honors was Kylie McMurtrey in 2020.

The awards continue to pile up for the Mountaineers with more likely to come. All-American teams are expected to be announced within the next week.
