Calf dead and cow injured in Grant County wolf depredations

GRANT COUNTY – Wolves were found to have killed one Grant County calf and injured another in November, according to the ODFW’s livestock depredation documents.

On November 17th, a dead 8-month-old calf was found in a 300-acre pasture on private land near Dan’s Creek. It was determined that the attack had taken place around 12 hours prior to the on-scene investigation. Wolves from the Logan Valley pack were confirmed to have been responsible for the depredation.

Another injured cow was found on November 25th. Investigation confirmed the cow was also attacked by wolves of the Logan Valley pack, about a week prior to the investigation.

No depredations in Grant County have been reported so far for the month of December.
