LA GRANDE – (Release from Greenwood PTS) Greenwood Elementary PTS is absolutely thrilled to announce that we have been awarded an incredibly generous grant of $7,636.00 by the Wildhorse Foundation for our Literacy Empowerment initiative! This wonderful grant will allow us to bring to life our vision of incorporating Inchy’s Bookworm Vending Machine with our Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS).
With this grant, we will be able to purchase a Book Vending machine that will revolutionize how we support reading and character-building skills in Greenwood Elementary. This project is not just a vending machine – it is a symbol of hope and inspiration for our students.
The concept behind this initiative is simple, yet incredibly powerful: when our students meet a PBIS goal, they earn a token to select a free book from the vending machine. These books have been carefully chosen to cater to a wide range of reading levels and interests, ensuring that every child can find something that speaks to their heart and nurtures their love for reading.
This initiative perfectly complements the character-building programs already in place at Greenwood School, reinforcing the importance of qualities such as academic independence, responsibility, respect, and courage. Our students are not just readers – they are leaders in the making, and this vending machine is just one step towards empowering them to reach their full potential.
We are truly humbled and grateful to the Wildhorse Foundation for their incredible support of this innovative project. We are also immensely thankful to the Greenwood community for their unwavering dedication to the education and growth of our children. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of our students, one book at a time. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.
