Cause: Lightning
Location: 23 Miles north of Enterprise, OR
Acres: 4,169
Containment: 87%
Resources: 5 Crews, 3 Ambulances, 1 Medical team, 3 Engines, 1 Dozer, 3 Water tenders
HIGHLIGHTS: Containment remains 87% within its current acreage footprint. Crews are holding and monitoring along the fire’s perimeter. Firefighters near completion of backhauling equipment no longer needed on this incident to support otherfiresin the region. Remaining resources are available to respond to nearby fire starts.
This will be the final fire information update from Central West Zone Incident Management Type 3 Team. Furthermore, this will be the last Burnt Creek Fire update unless there is significant change in fire activity.
AIR QUALITY: From Elgin over to Enterprise, expect conditions to worsen through the afternoon and evening, where UNHEALTHY to VERY UNHEALTHY Air Quality is expected. WEATHER: Light west to slightly northwest winds, with gusts up to 16 miles per hour, are expected through Sunday evening. Temperatures will reach the high 80s with minimum humidity (10-15%).
RESTRICTIONS: Restrictions remain in Phase C with no campfires. Only liquid fuel or gas stoves are permitted. Internal combustion engines are limited to motor vehicles. Smoking is allowed only in enclosed vehicles, buildings, and developed recreation sites, or cleared areas. Off-road travel is prohibited, and drivers should avoid roads with dry grass or other flammable vegetation. CLOSURES & EVACUATIONS: The Burnt Creek Fire Area Closure remains in effect on National Forest Service Lands. All evacuation orders have been lifted. Roads and lands within the closure perimeter remain closed to public access, including the Chico Trail and Chico Trailhead. Highway 3 remains open, but travelers should use caution due to increased fire traffic.
