Burns Police Chief Macartney discusses dangers of driving impaired

BURNS – Burns Police Chief Steve Macartney Jr. was recently on KZHC’s Harney County Live with Mindy Gould. Chief Macartney discussed the dangers of driving impaired, and how alcohol is just one of many forms of impairment they look for:
“Impairment is a lot of different things. Impairment is alcohol. Impairment is marijuana; it’s prescription medications; it’s methamphetamine; it’s heroin. But, there is also other impairment, too. That is like…we all have really bad days, and we are not thinking, and we are not focused, and everything is going wrong in our lives…that’s something you’ll never take back if you cause a serious physical injury or death.”
