Burns BLM rescinds fire prevention orders

HARNEY COUNTY(Released from Malheur National Forest, Emigrant Creek Ranger District)-On September 22, 2025, Burns District Bureau of Land Management (BLM) rescinded the fire prevention orders that prohibited building campfires outside of designated campgrounds, operating chainsaws between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and driving roads/tracks with vegetation on public lands in Harney County managed by Burns District BLM. 

Fireworks, tracer incendiary ammo, and/or exploding/metal targets are still prohibited through October 31, 2025, and fire danger remains high on BLM-administered public lands. 

The Emigrant Creek Ranger District portion of the Malheur National Forest remains in Phase A of public use restrictions with moderate fire danger.
