WALLA WALLA – An investigation into a burglary in Walla Walla has led to two arrests on both sides of the Washington/Oregon state line.

The Walla Walla Police Department responded Tuesday to a report of a burglary at 9 a.m. on the 1400 block of Heritage Road. The location is on farmland consisting of a house with multiple outbuildings.

WWPD officers located and arrested Sara K. Davis, 32, on probable cause for second-degree burglary. She also had an outstanding warrant for her arrest issued by College Place Municipal Court.

It was initially reported that two additional male suspects were involved in the burglary. One of the suspects was identified as Cody Lee Farrens, 33. He was also reported to be armed at the scene of the burglary.

Wanted on warrants, Farrens had probable cause for his arrest in connection with an attempted homicide on July 28 where a person had been shot in the abdomen in Milton-Freewater.

Given the potential danger of an armed encounter, the Walla Walla Regional SWAT Team assisted in the search of the Heritage Road property. Farrens and his accomplice were able to flee from the scene before the perimeter was fully established.

On Wednesday. Farrens was found near the Walla Walla River. While attempting to elude law enforcement on foot, Farrens discarded a firearm. MFPD used a taser and took the suspect into custody.

Farrens was lodged into the Umatilla County Jail on the following charges: probation violation, first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, and felon in possession of a weapon.
