KENNEWICK – An alleged burglar was caught inside CG Public House and Catering on West Clearwater Avenue this morning (Saturday). The Kennewick Police Department was called to the scene when employees arrived for work and found a man inside the locked building.
Responding officers determined the man had broken a window to gain entry to the building. Because the suspect refused to exit the building, KPD called for mutual aid from the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, the Washington State Patrol, and KPD K9 Officer Ivan.
When Ivan arrived, the suspect identified as 32-year-old Jose Gomez, quickly complied orders to leave the building and was taken into custody without incident.
Gomez is charged with second-degree burglary and is lodged at Benton County Jail.
