Bull elk confiscated near Halfway after hunters reportedly trespassed

HALFWAY –. The Oregon State Police responded to a trespassing complaint at around 10:26 a.m. on October 31 at a property near Halfway in Baker County. During the investigation, it was determined a bull elk was illegally killed on private property, subsequently being confiscated by law enforcement. The official OSP description of the case (as issued in a recent press log) is as follows:

“OSP F&W investigated a trespass complaint involving a bull elk being killed on private property. One subject was cited and released for hunting on the other’s cultivated or enclosed land and take/possession of bull elk. A second subject was cited and released for aiding/counseling in a wildlife offense. A bull elk was seized and released to an ODFW meat processor for charity distribution.”

The subjects in question were 23-year-old Jeffrey Scott Coleman of Amity and 24-year-old Isaiah M. Glassley of McMinnville. Coleman was cited for Hunting on Another’s Cultivated or Enclosed Land – Misd and Take/Possession of Bull Elk – Misd. Glassley was cited for Aiding/Counseling in a Wildlife Offense – Misd.
