Budget meetings planned

LA GRANDE – The City of La Grande has scheduled public meetings with the Budget Committees discussing the Urban Renewal Agency and the City Of La Grande. The budgets are for the Fiscal Year July 2, 2021 to June 30, 2022. The meetings will be in two-parts with the first meeting with the Urban Renewal Budget Committee on May 10, 2021, at 6:00 pm at the City Hall.
The purpose of this meeting is to receive the Budget Message and to receive public comments and consider approval of the proposed Urban Renewal District Budget. Immediately following Urban Renewal Budget Committee meeting to consider the Urban Renewal District Budget, the City’s Budget Committee will convene a separate meeting to receive the Budget Message and begin deliberations in connection with the City’s General, Enterprise, and Special Funds budgets effective July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022. This meeting will be continued on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at 6:00 p.m.
The meetings will be available for viewing live via Charter Communications channel 180 beginning at 6:00 pm on each day.
It is strongly recommended that the public submit comments or questions in writing in advance of the meeting. Written comments for the URD and City’s General, Enterprise, and Special Funds Budgets received by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 2021, will be read during the public comment section of the respective meetings.
Comments, both written and phone in will be subject to a three-minute limit per community member.
