LA GRANDE – (Information from the City of La Grande Fire Department) On the morning of August 17, the La Grande Fire Department responded to, and quickly extinguished, a brush fire behind Jefferson Street Supply. As stated in their official August 17 release:
“This morning Engine 46, Brush 47 and C4 responded to a small brush fire that was threatening a structure. The fire was contained to the brush and the adjacent structure was not damaged.
La Grande Police arrived on scene and have made an arrest of a subject. Specific charges are pending. Thank you to the alert passerby, who called this in!
We would like to remind everyone that fire conditions are worsening with every passing hot day. Be extra safe! Be extra alert!”
