Brown is appointed to the Walla Walla City Council

WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla City Council has appointed Emily Brown to fill the vacant seat on the council. The action was taken by the council on Wednesday night.

Brown’s appointment will expire upon certification of the results of the November 2027 General Election for Position No. 6. She will begin her service at the March 9 city council work session.

The council decided to utilize an application process to fill the vacancy, which opened up when Mayor Tom Scribner resigned on Dec. 31, 2025. Twelve applicants were interviewed by the council on Monday.

“Thank you to all the candidates who took the time to submit an application, interview with the city council, and were willing to serve their community,” City Manager Elizabeth Chamberlain said.”
