Malheur National Forest reduces Bridge Fire Closure

PRAIRIE CITY โ€“ UPDATE 9/19 – (Press Release from the Malheur National Forest)

The Malheur National Forest has reduced the closure for the Bridge Fire located on Blue Mountain Ranger District. To protect public health and safety, fire managers have closed the area around the fire due to fire activity and fire suppression operations.

This Forest Order, Malheur Bridge Fire Perimeter Closure (06-04-01-25-18) will be effective September 19, 2025,  and will remain in effect through December 31, 2025, unless rescinded sooner. This closure order rescinds and replaces the previous Malheur Bridge Fire Closure Area Update (06-04-01-25-17).

Closure Description:

  • Starting T11S R34E NW quarter of section 28.
  • East to intersection with Trail #244 Davies Creek Trail at T11Sย R34E section 27.
  • Follow trail #244 Davis Creek Trail south until it intersects with the section line at T11S R34E section 27
  • South to T11S R34E to the SE quarter of section 34.
  • West to the intersection with Forest Service Road (FSR) 2610.
  • Follow FSR 2610 north to the intersection with FSR 2610 759
  • Follow FSR 2610 759 north to the intersection with section line at T11Sย R34Eย section 28.
  • North along the section line at T11S R34 NW quarter of section 28 where it ends.

All roads within this closure area will remain closed, with closure signs in place.

UPDATE 9/18: The Malheur National Forest reports the Bridge Fire northeast of Prairie City is 100% contained. The announcement came on the forestโ€™s Facebook page yesterday at approximately 4:16 p.m. Yesterday, 202 personnel were staffed on the fire. The Bridge Fire grew to 350 acres and the cause is still under investigation.
