MONUMENT – UPDATE 7/20 at 9:50 pm – (From Grant County Emergency Management)

Boneyard and Monkey Creek Evacuation Notifications – Grant County
Due to fire activity in the northern county, the following areas have new evacuation notices:
A. The area West of HWY 395 to Monument and North of 402 to Co Rd 15/Ritter Road, including
the communities of Long Creek and Hamilton are now in a Level 2 Evacuation Zone – GET SET.

Boneyard Fire Evacuation Notifications – Grant County


Due to fire activity in the northern county, the following areas have new evacuaion notices:
A. All of NW Grant County South to HWY 19 and 402, East to Monument, and North to the Middle
Fork of the John Day River are now in Level 3 – GO NOW.

Boneyard and Lone Rock Evacuation Notifications – Grant County
Due to fire activity in the northern county, the following areas have new evacuation notices:
A. Everything North of Highway 402 from the Monument to Kimberly, and North to the Morrow
County Line is Level 2 Evacuation Notice.

Due to fire activity in the northern county, the following areas have new evacuation notices:
A. All areas that were previously a Level 1 around Monument, to include to the City of Monument,
are now in Level 2.

UPDATE – 7/20 at 11:53 p.m. – (From Grant County Emergency Management)

Boneyard and Monkey Creek Evacuation Notifications – Grant County
Due to fire activity in the northern county, the following areas have new evacuation notices:
A. The Monkey Creek Level 3 Evacuation Area is now West from the intersection of County Road 15
(Ritter Road) and Constant Road up to the County Line, and 2 miles East of the Monkey Creek
Fire.
B. The Boneyard Fire has expanded its Level 3 Evacuation Zone an additional 2 miles West and 3
miles South.
C. Ritter Road has been closed West of the intersection at highway 395.

PREVIOUS: According to fire officials, the Boneyard Fire north of the town of Monument has grown to 8,308 acres. Containment information has not been listed. Evacuation orders remain the same; the entire Top Road community is at a Level 3—GO NOW advisory. The City of Monument is currently in a Level 1—BE READY advisory.

PREVIOUSLY POSTED: Grant County Emergency Management Coordinator Eric Bush was in KJDY studios Friday morning with information:

“Fortunately, you know, in this area there are very few structures. There are a few residences out there; most of them are unoccupied. The Sheriff has literally been on the ground, knocking on doors out there, personally talking to people from one end of that colored [evacuation] map to the other last night.”
