UKIAH, OR – According to the Oregon Department of Forestry the Bone Canyon Fire 12 miles southwest of Ukiah is 75 percent contained. Firefighters responded to the North Ford John Day River area early this week. No evacuations were needed and no structures were threatened. It was determined that lightning was the cause, since a passing storm passed the area on Sunday. A total of 67 acres were burned.
With warm dry conditions throughout the weekend and next week, Oregon Department of Forestry advises everyone to be cautious when traveling in the forests.
