WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla Public Schools Board of Directors meets at 5:30 p.m. today (Tuesday). The virtual meeting will be streamed via zoom. One of the items on the agenda is an update on the bond projects.
Some of the projects at Walla Walla High School include different parts under different phases for the library. The structural steel has been placed, roof framing has begun, and the mezzanine deck work has started. All of the steel erection has been completed in the auditorium and wall framing has begun.
At Pioneer Middle School, the foundations for the addition were poured, The slab for the classroom addition has been poured and framing for the roof and walls has started. The February snow did impact some work, but Jackson Contractor Group is working with Wenaha Group to find ways to mitigate any delays.
Superintendent Wade Smith will also deliver an enrollment report. The district lost two students in the March census when compared to February. The 5,464 student population is well below the 5,669 record in March 2020.
