RICHLAND – The Richland Police Department reports officers responded just before 8 a.m. Thursday to the Duportail Bridge regarding a suspicious package under the bridge. It was reported that there was a cylinder wrapped in duct tape with a long fuse attached.
Technicians from the RPD Bomb Squad responded and the package was rendered safe. There is no threat to public safety.
The Richland Police Department thanks the citizen who spotted the device and notified them right away. If you see something that you believe could be an explosive, clear the area and call 911.
