Body recovered from Columbia River identified

KENNEWICK – Human remains recovered from the Columbia River Tuesday has been identified as Brandy E. Ebanez, 34. The Benton County Sheriff’s Office said she was positively identified through dental records and that her last known residence was in Kennewick.

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office was notified Tuesday by a fisherman of possible human remains located in the Columbia River near the shoreline east of the Cable Bridge. Detectives, deputies and the Benton County Coroner’s Office coordinated the recovery effort using the sheriff’s office boat.

A deceased adult female was recovered from the river and taken to the Benton County Coroner’s Office. An autopsy was conducted on Wednesday.

Detectives from the Benton County Sheriff’s Office and the Kennewick Police Department are working together with the Benton County Coroner’s Office to determine the cause of death.
