Body found in Powder River positively identified

BAKER CITY – (Release from the Baker County Sheriff’s Office) On June 1, 2021, a body was located in the Powder River north of Hughes Lane in Baker City. After conducting an autopsy, the Oregon State Medical Examiner has positively identified the victim as Raleigh Rust.  No foul play is suspected.

Rust was reported as a missing person to the Baker City Police Department on May 25, 2021 by his mother. The last known contact with him was on May 14, 2021.

The Baker County Sheriff’s Office and Baker City Police Department would like to express our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Raleigh.
