Boardman man arrested after swinging piece of lumber at traffic

HERMISTON – A Boardman man was arrested in Hermiston on Monday, after he was reported to have been in the middle of a road with a gun swinging a piece of lumber.

Oregon State Police (OSP) assisted the Hermiston Police Department (HPD) with a disturbance call at around 9:09 p.m, where a male was reported to have a gun, walking in the street and yelling at passing vehicles. An OSP trooper found the subject in the middle of the road with a piece of lumber swinging it at passing vehicles. Mario Bazan Ayala was detained without incident.

HPD then took custody of Bazan, and he was booked into the Umatilla County Jail on one count of misdemeanor second-degree disorderly conduct.

An OSP report listed the location as West Ridgeway Avenue and State Highway 207/Northwest 11th Street. The arrest location per the Umatilla County Jail roster was listed as State Highway 207/Northwest 11th Street and West Maradona Avenue.
