JOHN DAY – The Blue Mountain Hospital District is sponsoring a free, educational program for friends and family whose loved ones have dementia or memory loss.

Dr. Rod Harwood, Older Adult Behavioral Health Coordinator at GOBHI, will present information about dementia, provide training for family and friends who are caregivers, and share about on-going resources for Grant County families affected by dementia. He said anyone is welcome to show up:

“I’ll be doing one on ‘Challenging Behaviors’. That very topic—a person’s having some sort of behavior—either they’re irritating or they’re getting into things, or they’re getting upset. We think that it’s all about them, but in reality we have to look at…the environment they’re in, the other people that are around them, other health issues at that going on.”

It’ll be at 10am tomorrow, Nov. 22nd at the John Day Fire Station on S. Canyon Blvd. Everyone is welcome to attend.
