PENDLETON – The Blue Mountain Community College Board of Education and Mark Browning have negotiated a contract that means the current vice president for college relations at the College of Western Idaho will become BMCC’s eighth president.

“He’s officially coming on Sept. 7,” Interim President Connie Green said. “We’re excited.”

Green said the interview process showed Browning to be a good listener, which impressed the board. She also said he was very selective in the number of schools to which he applied. Now, she says, he’s eager to get started.

“He and his wife and son were over here last weekend, looking at homes and just trying to get a sense of the area,” Green said. “He’s committed, he’s ready, and he’ll be here in 60 days.”
