BMCC president application period winds down

PENDLETON – Applications for a new president for Blue Mountain Community College ends tomorrow. Interim President Connie Green said that once the application period is closed, the screening committee will get to work.

“They begin reviewing,” she said. “They do some Zoom calling of the top candidates, and they, by Memorial Day weekend, are going to be recommending two to four candidates coming to campus the week of June 7.”

Green said there will be an opportunity for the interested public to check out the candidates, possibly via Zoom, depending on COVID conditions. The BMCC Board of Directors is expected to make a decision later that month.

“The last two weeks of June, the board will make a decision and do an offer,” she said. “If for some reason it’s not a good match, we’ll continue to have it (the position) open and there will be interviews then in September.”
