PENDLETON – Blue Mountain Community College wants to hear from the public as it works to draft a strategic plan through 2028. The college has scheduled a series of listening sessions that begin Monday and run through May 22 in communities where the college has an impact.

“Input is vital,” BMCC President Mark Browning said. “BMCC is poised to move into the future with new efforts to align programs, outcomes, and services to further enrich the lives of our students and the communities we serve. Sitting down and hearing what are the needs and wants of our community partners is the first step in our work to formulate the plan that will guide Blue Mountain forward.”

The listening sessions are all scheduled from 5:30-7 p.m. They begin in La Grande on Monday at the high school auditorium. That will be followed Tuesday with a session in the commons of Pendleton High School.

The next week will see a session in the Columbia Room at Wildhorse Resort and Casino on May 8. The Riverside High School auditorium is the site for the Boardman listening session on May 9. The commons area at Baker High School will be the gathering place for the May 10 meeting.

A listening session is scheduled in the conference room of the Blue Mountain Community College Milton-Freewater campus on Thursday, May 18. The final session will be in the auditorium of Hermiston High School on Monday, May 22.

In addition to guiding the overall direction of BMCC, the strategic plan can serve as a catalyst for other campus planning and operational efforts.
