PENDLETON – A 50-year tradition is returning to Pendleton as the Blue Mountain Community College Associated Student Government is planning to host its Holiday Dinner on Dec. 20 from 4-6 p.m. at the Student Union in Pioneer Hall on the Pendleton campus.
“It’s a symbol of togetherness and community spirit,” ASG President John Glidewell said. “This year, especially, it’s a beacon of hope and resilience as we gather again to celebrate and support each other.”
The meal that is free and to which all are welcome fell by the wayside during the pandemic. Glidewell said that health and safety protocols will be followed at the dinner.
“This dinner is more than a meal,” Glidewell said. “It’s a gesture of support to those who might otherwise go without. It’s about providing warmth and a sense of family during the holidays, reinforcing our message that no one in our community should be alone or in need during this time of year.”
Community members who want to volunteer should contact ASG Advisor Garrett Michalson at 541-278-5861 or email him at gmichalson@bluecc.edu.
