PENDLETON – The Blue Mountain Community College Faculty Association has paused its public outreach campaign regarding budget cuts at the college. The pause will last through the month.

Association President Pete Hernberg announced the pause following meetings with BMCC President Mark Browning and other administrators. The two sides had gotten together on Friday.

On Monday they signed an agreement that pauses implementation of the budget cuts for a month. During that time, they will meet regularly to explore alternatives.

“During this time, we have agreed to pause our campaign of public outreach in order to give these negotiations the best chance of a good outcome,” Hernberg wrote in announcing the pause.
