PENDLETON – The Blue Mountain Community College Library is hosting the traveling exhibit “The Nez Perce in Oregon: Removal and Return” now through March 21.

The exhibit tells the story of the Nez Perce people, highlighting their forced removal from their homelands in 1877 and their gradual return over generations. Created by staff at the Josephy Center for Arts and Culture in Joseph, the display provides an in-depth look at this chapter in regional and national history.

“We are thrilled to bring this exhibit to our campus and community,” said Library and Learning Hub Director Kristin Williams. “It’s an important opportunity to engage with the history of the Nez Perce people and their enduring resilience.”

After its stop at BMCC, the exhibit will continue to travel, culminating in a display at the Oregon State Capitol in September. Community members, students, and staff are welcome to visit the BMCC Library in Pioneer Hall on the Pendleton campus.
