WALLA WALLA – Walla Walla Public Schools said Thursday that local contractors have successfully relocated the visitors’ bleacher system from Borleske Stadium to Walla Walla High School’s Blue Devil Stadium, located off Fern Avenue, to serve visiting fans.

The move was part of the separation agreement with the Borleske Association and has resulted in cost savings of about $300,000 for the school district by eliminating the need for new bleachers.

The Blue Devil Stadium project remains on schedule and within budget, with completion expected in time for fall sports.

At nearby Murr Field, contractors started installing 10 advanced light systems Wednesday, which is funded by the capital levy aimed at enhancing the district’s athletic facilities. The energy-efficient lights will shine down on the baseball and softball fields, and the batting cage area.

The lighting project at Murr Field remains within budget and will be finished before the spring sports season.
