JOHN DAY / PRAIRIE CITY – (Press Release from the Malheur National Forest)

The Malheur National Forest is implementing temporary bike trail closures on Magone Lake bike trails. These closures are for public safety during pre-commercial thinning operations . The closure will become effective October 15, 2024 and will remain in effect through December 31, 2024, unless rescinded sooner.

A temporary closure ensures the safety of the public from tree felling operations.

Bike trail closures:

·        #5089, Porcupine Springs

·        #5091, Phlo

·        #5090, Pumphouse

Closure signs will be posted at each end of the trails, and a detailed map of the closure will be available on the Malheur National Forest website and at Forest offices.
