JOHN DAY – The Grant Soil Water and Conservation District will be holding their district meeting this month. The district will be focusing on annual invasive grass treatments and success they’ve had around the county. Kyle Sullivan, District Manager, said this year’s meeting will be pretty significant:
“We’re pretty excited, we’ve got some guest speakers coming in from Bayer Corporation. The meeting is going to be Wednesday, May 18th, 6 o’clock down at the [Grant County Fairgrounds] Pavilion.
We’re doing something a little more differently. Matt [Wenick, Weed Control Specialist] has been treating a lot of ground around Grant County with this Rejuvra, which is a Bayer product, and we’ve seen some really good success against annual invasive grasses.”
The meeting is open to the public, and tours will take place the next day for landowners or members of the public interested in checking out previous treatment areas.
