Benton County corrections officer charged with sexual misconduct

KENNEWICK – Benton County Corrections Officer Kevin Bell was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Franklin County Jail on suspicion of second-degree custodial sexual misconduct.

His arrest follows an allegation of sexual misconduct reported to corrections staff by a female inmate. Bell was placed on paid administrative leave following the allegations pending the outcome of the investigation.

Upon completion of the criminal investigation being conducted by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, the findings will be submitted to the Benton County Prosecutor’s Office. Per policy the Benton County Corrections Department will conduct an internal investigation following the criminal investigation to ensure department policy compliance.
