BENT finds drugs, a weapon, and cash

HERMISTON – The Blue Mountain Enforcement Narcotics Team executed a search warrant at 210 E. Beach Ave., Hermiston yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon. Two people were arrested during the service of the search warrant.

Ofelia Lucinda Ramirez, 32, faces charges of possession and distribution of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school, possessing and distributing fentanyl within 1,000 feet of a school, endangering the welfare of a minor, frequenting and maintaining a drug house, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Alejandro Gonzalez, 46, was in the house and was lodged on a parole violation warrant. Additional charges involving drug trafficking are pending.

BENT officers report that several other people were contacted at the residence. The decision to serve the warrant came after a number of citizen complaints and surveilling the home. Saying the case is ongoing, BENT said additional charges will be referred to the Umatilla County District Attorney’s Office.

BENT is staffed by full-time supervisors who are sergeants for the Pendleton Police Department and the Oregon State Police and nine full-time narcotics detectives representing OSP, PPD, Hermiston Police Department, Milton-Freewater Police Department, Morrow County Sheriff’s Office, Umatilla Tribal Police, Boardman Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
