Bend man killed Friday in crash near Boardman

MORROW COUNTY – A crash on the Tower Road on-ramp west of Boardman resulted in the death of a Bend man Friday.

Oregon State Patrol (OSP) says that at 11:43 p.m. a Volkswagen Jetta driven by 38-year-old Austin Yager suffered a mechanical failure on the eastbound on-ramp that resulted in no visible lights operating on his vehicle. A Freightliner semi driven by 33-year-old Adonis Marcial of Miami, Florida entered the on-ramp and struck the vehicle.

The OSP report says Yager was outside of the vehicle at the time of the collision and was declared deceased at the scene. Marcial was not injured.

The highway was not impacted during the on-scene investigation.
