JOHN DAY – Grant School District #3’s Behavioral Interventionist Laurie Dix was on KJDY’s Coffee Time last Friday. She said that she’s available for students who may be struggling with anxiety or other emotions:

“One part of my job is when we have students what are either sad, or have anxiety, or they can’t even identify a feeling, or blowing out of classes—they come to me, and we sit down, and an example would be we look at the ‘Feelings Wheel.’”

Mrs. Dix wants to stress to community and family members that if you know a student who may be having a hard time–especially around the holidays–encourage them to reach out to her at Grant Union Jr./Sr. High School.
