Beat the Heat: Harney HUB Now Accepting Applications for Summer Cooling Assistance

HARNEY COUNTY-As summer temperatures climb in the high desert, relief is on the way for vulnerable local residents struggling to keep up with rising electricity costs. The Harney HUB has officially announced that applications are now being accepted for the Summer Cooling Bill Assistance program.

The initiative aims to provide financial relief directly on electric utility bills, helping qualifying households maintain a safe, cool environment during the hottest months of the year.

To ensure funding reaches those most susceptible to heat-related health risks, the program is currently prioritizing three specific groups within Harney County:

• Seniors (older adults)
• People with disabilities
• Families with young children (ages 6 and younger)
