Be cautious of the increased truck traffic around John Day

JOHN DAY – Grant County Sheriff Todd McKinley was in KJDY Studios on Thursday morning to update listeners on some happenings. The Sheriff said for folks to be mindful of the increased truck traffic from the Grant County Regional Airport’s runway project:
“All that truck traffic is going up and down West Bench. We’re getting some complaints just of the noise—not so much of the speed—but just the noise of trucks after trucks. It’ll come to an end, but it’ll be [underway] throughout most of the summer. They are hauling piles of rock from Belshaw, clear down toward Fields Creek down there, that’s where the rock is all coming from.”
