LA GRANDE – The City of La Grande Fire Department reminds the citizens of La Grande that the ban on fireworks and outdoor burning, including recreational burns WILL CONTINUE and REMAIN IN PLACE until weather and moisture conditions improve and it is officially lifted by the City of La Grande Fire Department. Many citizens thought the ban was just for the 4th of July.
There have been several complaints made to the police department regarding fireworks within the City of La Grande, even after the 4th holiday.
According to the La Grande Fire Department, the ban is due to continuing high temperatures and dry conditions with no precipitation in the forecast.
