Baker YMCA will soon have a new Family Center

BAKER CITY – A brand-new YMCA Family Center is coming to Baker City.  Earlier this week YMCA Board Members officially broke ground on the new addition to the Baker YMCA.

This new center will allow for additional youth programs and community events.  According to the YMCA, “this expansion will also give us room to grow and offer even more support to our Baker County Community.”

Among the attributes of the new Family Center will be a basketball court, concession booth, restrooms, activity room, and more.

The YMCA is now tasked with raising funds for this Capital Campaign in the amount of $135,000.  There are various ways in which people can donate or sponsor this project.  Contact the YMCA for details.

CEO Koby Meyer said, “We want our members also to know that this is the value we’re trying to create for their membership, that there’s so much more than just a gym here, that this is a family center where their kids, their families will be able to access seven days a week.  They’ll be able to come in and make memories.”
