BAKER COUNTY — In a heartwarming display of community spirit, four local schools—The Baker Early Learning Center, Brooklyn Primary, South Baker Intermediate, and Haines Elementary—joined forces for coin drives that collectively raised nearly $3500. The funds will go towards supporting the CASA/Lew Bros. Tire Toy Drive this holiday season. Each school employed creative methods to encourage participation, ranging from friendly competitions between grades to inventive incentives. Brooklyn Primary, the top fundraiser with an impressive total of over $1100, took the challenge to another level. The 1st grade class emerged victorious, earning the privilege to “pie” not only Principal Collier but also Assistant Principal Ford, Officer Parsons, and Deputy Maldonado. “We’re really grateful for our wonderfully generous community and the ability to support this toy drive that helps make the holiday season a little more special for some of our families,”said Lindsey Bennington-McDowell, Communications Coordinator for the Baker School District.
