Baker School District seeks new chief financial officer

BAKER CITY – Baker School District’s current Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Regina Sampson, has announced her plans to leave the district following the current school year; and the district is beginning a search for her successor.

Under Ms. Sampson’s leadership, Baker School District’s Business Office has excelled, earning a Pathway to the Meritorious Budget Award “for excellence in the preparation and issuance of its budget for the Fiscal Year 2023-2024” by the Association of School Business Officials International.

The award-winning budget process was brought forward in planning for the 2024-2025 school year, which Ms. Sampson will continue to oversee through the adoption of the 2024-2025 budget. Baker School District’s proposed budget will be published on April 30, and Budget Committee meetings will begin May 7. The 2024-25 Budget Hearing is scheduled for June 18.

“Baker School District has benefitted greatly from Ms. Sampson’s expertise and leadership of the Business Office,” says Acting Superintendent Betty Palmer. “We’re grateful that we get to keep her through the end of this school year and wish her well in all her future endeavors.”
