Baker School District Returns to Required In-Person Registration for the 2026–27 School Year

BAKER CITY, OR — As summer rolls on and a fresh academic year approaches, Baker School District is gearing up to welcome students and families back in person. For the upcoming 2026–27 school year, the district is officially returning to required in-person registration. Completing this process in person is essential for all families, as it is required to finalize student classroom placements and confirm transportation details for the new year. District leaders and staff look forward to seeing everyone on August 3rd and 4th as the community prepares for a wonderful school year ahead.

Registration events will take place across two days with convenient hours to accommodate family schedules. For students attending Brooklyn Primary, South Baker Intermediate, Eagle Cap Innovative Jr/Sr High School, and Baker High School, registration will be hosted in the Baker High School Commons on Monday, August 3rd from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and on Tuesday, August 4th from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Baker Middle School will host its registration during those exact same days and times in the middle school gymnasium.

Families with elementary students in outlying areas have specific locations and schedules to keep in mind. Haines Elementary families can register at the Baker High School Commons on Monday, August 3rd from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, or on-site at Haines Elementary on Tuesday, August 4th from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Meanwhile, Keating Elementary will host its in-person registration on-site at Keating on Monday, August 3rd, offering early morning to evening hours from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

In addition to taking care of official school enrollment and setting up bus routes, registration days serve as a convenient one-stop hub to prepare students for the first day of class. Families attending will have the opportunity to connect with local community partners to sign up for public library cards, catch up on required vaccinations, schedule or complete sports physicals, and access a variety of local resources.

Because individual school offices are closed for the summer break, families with questions about the upcoming in-person registration events are encouraged to contact the Baker School District Office directly by calling 541-524-2260. Additional details, forms, and updates can also be found anytime on the district’s registration webpage at bakersd.org/registration.
