Baker School District Hires Eagle Cap Innovative Jr/Sr High School Principal

BAKER CITY – The Baker School District Board voted during their regular monthly meeting to approve the hiring of Vanessa Haggett as Principal of Eagle Cap Innovative Jr/Sr High School beginning next school year.

“Ms. Haggett really impressed the interview panel,” said Superintendent Mark Witty. “We’re enthusiastic about the futureof Eagle Cap Innovative Jr/Sr High School under her leadership.”

Ms. Haggett has been a teacher since 2009. She has worked since 2019 for Paisley Public Charter School in Paisley, OR, where she is currently Head Teacher and Science Teacher. As Head Teacher, Ms. Haggett has been responsible for the duties of a Vice Principal in a larger school, helping with administrative needs, school discipline, and as a substitute for the Superintendent/Principal as needed.

“I want to make a difference,” said Ms. Haggett. “I look forward to helping students succeed in creative and practical ways and supporting teachers to do their best work. The flexibility of an Eagle Cap Innovative Jr/Sr High School education is so exciting, offering students in-person and online learning opportunities, along with career and technical education at the middle and high school levels.”
