BAKER CITY — During the September school board meeting, several key updates and recognitions were shared with the community.
The board honored Reed Wagstaff for his contributions to upgrading the Auditorium A/V system at the high school. Wagstaff’s efforts have significantly enhanced the performing arts experience in the community, and district officials expressed their gratitude for his work.
Additionally, the new ASB presidents for the school year provided updates from both Baker Middle School and Baker High School. Iris Young shared news about upgraded concessions at home games, the Western Dance scheduled for October 2nd, and the upcoming Open House and Bake Sale on October 23rd at Baker Middle School. Meanwhile, Jack Murphy highlighted fall sports, Pep Night on October 8th, and Homecoming events planned for that week at Baker High School.
The board also celebrated the groundbreaking of the new BTI line school, a training center being built in partnership with OTEC. This facility aims to support the future of the utility industry through specialized training.
