Baker School District Has Selected New South Baker Intermediate School Principal

BAKER CITY – (Release from the Baker School District) Heidi Stocks, the Assistant Principal of South Baker Intermediate School (SBI) and Coordinator of Auxiliary Programming for the current school year, will replace Phil Anderson as the Principal of SBI beginning July 1.

“Ms. Stocks is a natural fit for this position,” said Superintendent Erin Lair. “We’re so fortunate that she had the desire to step up to this new responsibility and serve our students, staff, and families at South Baker in an expanded way.”

Ms. Stocks grew up attending schools in Baker School District, starting in Haines and graduating from Baker High School. Her first teaching job was as a math teacher at Baker High School, where she also served as Chair of the math department. Then, Ms. Stocks spent time as a math teacher, math tutor, and instructional designer at Baker Web Academy, where she also served as Chair of the math department and lead teacher for Eastern Oregon. Ms. Stocks and her husband are now raising their three children on the same cattle ranch where she grew up.

“I feel humbled to have the opportunity to continue working with the amazing staff at South Baker in this new capacity,” said Ms. Stocks. “I am excited to continue building relationships with students and families that I have met this year and look forward to welcoming our incoming fourth grade students and families this fall.”
