BAKER CITY –Baker School District Superintendent Casey Hallgarth (CH) spoke with Elkhorn Media Group staff recently to provide an update on highlights from the district’s recent board meeting.
(EMG) Thank you for joining me, Casey. Let’s talk about some highlights from the school board meeting this week.
(CH) We started the meeting by recognizing our Promise Students of the Month: Baylee Poe from the Baker Early Learning Center and Addelyn Spriet from South Baker Intermediate. It was great to hear about all the wonderful ways that they are both positively impacting those around them.
We also got some great reports from our association presidents, board members, and district leadership. We’re really blessed to have a board that is actively involved in the district.
These are particularly fun days as we celebrate Pep Week at the high school leading up to Homecoming later this week.
(EMG) That’s wonderful. Is there anything else that you’d like to share about the board meeting?
(CH) As we enter another budget cycle, we reviewed a proposed budget calendar that will get another look at our meeting next month before it’s formally adopted by the board.
We also received our next-to-last board report from project managers Wenaha Group regarding our 2021-2023 capital bond projects as those wrap up.
And our last set of presentations for the night were the annual reports for Division 22 and Integrated Guildance. It was really encouraging to see how well the district is doing in hitting its performance growth targets!
(EMG) Thanks Casey.
