BAKER CITY – (Release from the Baker Historical Society) Come meet the new officers of the Baker Historical Society and get a sneak peek of the National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center at Flagstaff Hill temporarily moving into the Baker Heritage Museum for the next three years with a free Community Open House.
The open house will be First Friday April 1st, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM to drop in to the museum, renew your historical society membership, meet the new board members, consider volunteering, and see all the new work being done at Baker Heritage Museum.
At 4:30 PM, Historical Society President Ginger Savage well make welcoming remarks, but guests are welcome to come as it is convenient and continue to enjoy First Friday in Baker City. Light refreshment will be served.
“It is critically important the Baker Historical Society gather and acknowledge the years of service by so many steadfast volunteers who have maintained and grown the Historical Society mission. We also need to gather as we come out of the pandemic to recruit new volunteers and new members to support a significant level of new work that needs to be done.” Ginger Savage, President.
Members of the Baker Museum Commission will also be on hand to share critical information concerning significant infrastructure issues with the historic Natatorium and the immediate fundraising needs they face.
Cultural Partners will be on hand to discuss the Baker County Culture and Heritage Passport program.
