Baker High School Senior Andie-Jo Craigmile has earned OSU’s prestigious Presidential Scholarship

BAKER CITY — Andie-Jo Craigmile, a senior at Baker High School, has been named a recipient of Oregon State University’s most prestigious academic honor: the Presidential Scholarship.

The award, valued at $40,000 over four years, is reserved for Oregon’s top-achieving students. This year, Andie-Jo was among only 145 students nationwide to receive the honor out of a reported 3,000 applicants.

According to the OSU information on the Presidential Scholarship, “The Presidential Scholarship is OSU’s most prestigious and competitive scholarship. Students are evaluated based on a holistic review of their application for admission, with specific attention to their accomplishments, contributions, experiences, and talents; their achievements within the context of their social and personal circumstances, and their participation in activities that demonstrate their academic potential, leadership abilities, and commitment to service.” 

At this time Andie-Jo is undecided on what school she will attend; however she plans to pursue a Major in Psychology with a Minor in Exercise Science.
