BAKER CITY – (Information from Baker Early Learning Center via Baker School District) “Public Service Announcement: Attention Dog Owners Around the Baker Early Learning Center (BELC)
To all community members who access the field at Baker Early Learning Center: Please remember, our school campus is not a dog park. It is a space dedicated to small children for learning and play.
While we understand the importance of outdoor spaces for exercise, the appropriate location for dogs is the Baker Dog Park, conveniently located next to the Sam-O Swim Center at 580 Baker Street.
We kindly ask you to pick up after your dog. While we provide waste disposal bags to assist in maintaining a clean environment, this effort has not resolved the ongoing issue. Our staff is spending valuable time cleaning up dog waste; and, worse, our students are stepping in it. This causes contamination of the astro turf and play structures, creating health and safety concerns for our children.
If this problem persists, we will be left with no option but to lock the perimeter of our campus to protect the children.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our campus safe and clean for everyone.
Baker Early Learning Center Staff”
