BAKER COUNTY – Baker County is slated to receive approximately $3,150,000 in COVID-19 relief. In March President Biden signed an aid bill making these funds available to city and counties.
Baker County Commissioner Mark Bennett says that “as a county we have experienced significant unbudgeted expenses related to the COVID incident and are in the process of fully identifying them as to cover the costs.”Also noting that the county has a workgroup reviewing the potential utilization of the funding and as the US Department of Treasury rules and guidance from the state is clearer they will move forward.
